Bat Speed Training For More Power

Bat Speed Training For More Power
By guest author: Alan Bryan

Using bat speed training can help you quickly gain an additional thirty to even one hundred feet in your power. The most common refrain in hitting is that it is not how hard you swing, rather, how quick your swing. Simply, it is the laws of physics that apply to hitting, as the velocity of the bat connecting with the ball determines the distance a ball will travel.

There are many bat speed training methods that can help you increase your velocity. However, despite all the great training out there, selecting the right bat is also a factor. Most bat speed drills should be done with a wooden bat. With the new, technologically advanced aluminum bats allowing for more error in your swing, many hitters have become dependent on technology rather than practice to hit for more power.

Simply, there are no soft hitting zones in the new aluminum bats. A wooden bat, however, has a very defined sweet spot, and when you miss that sweet spot, the wooden bat will let you know by either shattering or stinging your hands tremendously. Learn how to properly get the head of a wooden bat through the hitting plane, and you are one step closer to hitting for more power.

Effective bat speed training involves several components, some of which are not directly baseball related at all. In additional to practicing with wood bats, you should also strengthen your wrist and lower body using light weight resistance. Putting it all together can help you start hitting for more power in record time.

Effective bat speed training can take your game to the next level by increasing your power and average. When used correctly, bat speed training techniques are extremely effective. Learn the best training methods, recommended by professional scouts, by visiting www.batspeedtraining.info.

Beyond the Warning Track - Serious Core Strength For Baseball Hitting Power!

Beyond the Warning Track - Serious Core Strength For Baseball Hitting Power!
By Brandon Richey

There is only one way to increase your hitting power to take the leather beyond the warning track. In order to be more successful in hitting the baseball with superior force you have got to develop your core strength. As a strength and conditioning professional I can tell you that without significant core strength development your hitting power will always be limited regardless of how much time you spend in the batting cage. Read on if I have your attention.

Core Strength For Baseball Hitting Power!

If you are looking to drastically improve your hitting power then you have got to engage in lifts that will drastically improve the strength of your core midsection and large muscle groups. In order to do optimally do this you have got to execute lifts that are multi-joint in nature and work the big muscle groups. Lifts such as cleans, snatches, get ups, dead lifts, and jerks are all great for helping you to develop serious core strength for your hitting power. If you hit the big muscles you will hit the ball really hard, period!

Another strategy for your baseball core performance is making sure to execute exercises and drills that move you through the transverse plane of motion. This is one of three different planes of motion that the human body is capable of moving through. To explain this more clearly imagine a piece of paper that splits your body into top and bottom halves. This plane moves parallel to the flat ground that you stand on. Anything that moves along this plane such as any rotational type of movement will greatly benefit your hitting power. If you can imagine swinging the bat then you are on the rotational plane. The kettlebell get up is a terrific drill to help you move along at points of the transverse plane. Other drills such as rotational lunges and trunk twists will also work for this particular need.

If you haven't already started to engage in the strategies that I just mentioned then you are missing out on an excellent baseball core workout. Take the time to learn more by accessing and reading more of my articles on the subject for free. Remember that most any baseball player can train hard, but only the champions train smart my friend! Get the results you need in order to perform at the highest level by training for a purpose.

Increase Bat Speed Using Your Body's Natural Energy

Increase Bat Speed Using Your Body's Natural Energy
By Rob Bucher

Looking for a way to increase your bat speed and hit for more power and catch up with the missiles pitchers are firing at you?

In a few short moments I will share with you the proven ways to have a quick bat.

Once you learn them and understand the physics of the swing you will be able to maximize the kinetic chain.

Most hitters except for the best in the game have poor hitting mechanics.

They don't use their entire body's force to whip the bat through hitting zone with lightening speed and the reason is they have been taught to throw their hands at the ball.

Not only is the movement fundamental wrong, but it zaps power and speed from the swing.

You should be turning into the ball with your hands closer to your body. It produces centrifugal force and speeds up the bat and allows the hitter longer time to react to the pitch.

In order to use the kinetic chain to improve bat speed you need to have a proper load and proper release.

Start out with your weight evenly distributed on your feet. As the pitch is delivered, stride forward and push your hands and weight back while turning your front shoulder in about an inch.

This loading techniques allows you to stretch your body out like a rubber band.

As you begin your swing...allow your lower body to pull the upper body into the pitch while transferring your weight to your front leg.

Accomplish this movement and you will get to the hitting zone faster and with more power.
